Our Story
Kaycee and Joseph Bergman have personally and emotionally been affected by divorce. They are stronger for it, and have a spiritual calling to address a growing need in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Both have seen and experienced what happens to children and their families after divorce papers are served. The biggest effect is the loss of key resources – housing, comfort, money, and time.
One parent often moves out of the family home into small, poorly furnished apartments with little room or personal space for their children. In other situations, children can no longer continue with activities because money is tight or parents are spending more time working to earn money. And parents either overcompensate with too much love or too many boundaries.
Kaycee and Joseph have established The Anchor Foundation to address a growing need to:

The Anchor Foundation is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and preserving relationships between children and their non-custodial parent during divorce.
Our Mission
The Anchor Foundation is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and preserving relationships between children and their non-custodial parent during divorce. We define a non-custodial parent as either a mother or father who moves out of the family home.
As an anchor on tumultuous seas, we serve as a transitional resource to children and parents addressing their spiritual, emotional, and financial needs. We are the first call that a non-custodial parent or referring faith-based organization makes once divorce papers have been served.
We provide a range of essential services, based upon need, that help anchor fathers and children, including setting up new bedrooms for children in their new home, connecting families with counseling services, and offering financial support to specifically ensure the continuity of children’s activities.
We are incorporated in the state of Texas as a qualified 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code, and we are publicly supported as described in 501(a)(i) and 170 (b)(1)(A)(i) of the Internal Revenue Code.
How We Help
We pursue our mission by partnering with established faith-based organizations to identify, screen, and refer qualified families. We assess their needs and serve them with the necessary spiritual, emotional, and financial resources and services.
Referrals
We also accept qualified families directly. We start by assessing their needs and either serving them directly through The Anchor Foundation or referring them to another faith-based organization.
